Nino Lindo eres tu Me Dios - (Lovely Baby You Are my God)

This was the name of the carol service presented by the Choir of St Peter’s College on the 15^th of December 2007.

One of the last SLAAPS meetings that I would attend was held at the Galle Face Hotel on that day and after the meeting, Lorna coaxed Claudette, Iyne and me to join her for the carol service. Ravini was taking part. Iyne had brought along her new vehicle so we drove in comfort to St Peters and soon found ourselves good seats. The hall was beautifully decked in silver and blue and all the choristers of the schools taking part had on lovely outfits.

For me St Peters college was outstanding and so was holy Family Convent choirs. St Peter’s in my opinion, needs a bit more training.

It was a beautiful service though, with lovely, piercingly beautiful voices. The finale was an all choir effort at ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas; during which a few of the junior choristers appeared amongst the audience carrying little baskets lined with coloured paper and carrying gaily wrapped Christmas cake for the entire audience– what a lovely finale!
