Hyacinth called over today feeling blue and wanted to browse through the Lake House bookshop and buy herself a good book to cheer herself up with. So we set off after lunch and were soon scanning the shelves of books. She went looking for romances, Tin Tin comics or some joke books, while I simply browsed around. They have quite a collection of local writers and their selection of cookery books is vast! Leafing through the glossy pages made me feel hungry all over again!
Lake House had run out of romances…. So Hyacinth just bought “Gone with the Wind”. The manager was really sweet and told us that the man selling books on the pavement near the Regal had some Mills & Boons if we didn't mind buying second hand books.
We stopped to have a look and sure enough… he had stacks of books. We bought 5 books. I started on a Historical Romance on the bus home in the evening.
